Spartanburg County is located in the northern part of South Carolina, where U.S. Interstates 85 & 26 intersect.
The county is home to three Masonic Districts and thirty-one (31) Blue Lodges, with a combined membership of over 3,800.
Freemasonry of South Carolina is the home of Dr. Albert G. Mackey, the renowned author of many Masonic books and publications; Rev. Frederick Dalcho, one of the first members of The Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and its second Sovereign Grand Commander; and Joel R. Poinsett, for whom the beautiful Christmas Poinsettia is named.
